Nakuru ODM Chairman Peter ole Osono, who opened fire at journalists and protesters at a ranch in Gilgil last week, has been arrested. Detectives from the Naivasha CID office arrested the politician this morning.
While confirming his arrest, Naivasha CID boss Joseph Owiti says the politician, who had been disarmed, would be charged Wednesday morning.
Osono is accused of shooting at journalists who were covering protests over the alleged grabbing of Oljorai Ranch, where he has defied orders from the National Land Commission to open a public road.
His arrest comes just a few days after Police Inspector General Joseph Boinett ordered Osono disarmed after the shooting incident in Gilgil.
